Learning Scuba Diving is easy and fun. It is the first step into exploring the
vastness that covers more than 2/3 of the surface of the Earth.

At Serenity Maritime we believe the only smart and safe way to learn to dive is in a
small class environment where the instructor has the ability to provide each student
with the time and attention they need.  As land dwelling, air breathing mammals we
are forced to rely on the technology that our large brains have created to allow us
to experience things and places our bodies were never designed for.  Learning to
use this technology safely and to become comfortable in the environment takes
time and practice.  Quick "resort courses" do not allow the time or practice
required.  We believe in "Qualifying" Divers, not just "Certifying" them.

We offer private or group classes in the courses listed below.
Skin Diver
This is a certification course in snorkeling and breath-hold diving.  Upon successful completion of this course, graduates are
considered competent to engage in open water breath-hold diving activities without supervision, provided the diving activities and the
areas dived approximate those of training.
The course is designed to:
  • Develop skin diving skills for swimmers and scuba divers.
  • Afford non-scuba divers the opportunity for diving related training.
  • Provide Preparatory training for scuba diving.

Minimum age
Skin Diver -- 12 years
Junior Skin Diver -- 8 years
Junior Diver Restrictions
Junior certification carries the following conditional restriction:
  • The parent or guardian and Junior diver agree that the Junior diver will dive with a certified adult (18 years of age) diver of the
    parent's or guardian's selection.
  • The parent or guardian and Junior diver agree that the Junior diver will limit diving depth to 60 feet (18m) or less.
  • To remove the Junior cards conditional requirements, a new card must be requested by an active status NAUI instructor,
parent or legal guardian once the Junior attains the age required for full certification. "Junior" divers may directly request from
NAUI a full certification in the event that they have reach the age of majority.
Enriched Air NITROX (EANx) Diver
This course is to provide the diver with the information necessary to utilize EANx as a breathing medium.  The course may be taught
as a stand-alone specialty course to certified divers or the knowledge and skills training may be integrated into other NAUI
certification courses including the NAUI Scuba Diver Course.
Upon successful completion of this course graduates are considered competent to utilize EANx mixtures up to 40% oxygen in open
water diving activities without direct supervision, provided the diving activities and the areas dived approximate those of training.
NAUI First Aid, CPR, AED, Blood-borne Pathogens and Emergency Oxygen
Administration
NAUI First Aid can be conducted as a comprehensive course including all the segments (First Aid, CPR, AED, Blood-borne
Pathogens and Emergency Oxygen Administration) in a single schedule or each of the segments may be delivered separately to
meet specific needs of the students who may only need training in one discipline or another.  Skills and information complies with
current ILCOR (International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation) recommendations and is US Coast Guard Approved.
This course meets requirements for NAUI Rescue Diver and NAUI Advanced Rescue Diver course prerequisites as well as those for
NAUI Leadership.
